You have an idea worth spreading — but TEDx stages don't go to the most credentialed person in the room. They go to the person who knows how to package their message, position their authority, and land the yes. Mike Martin has done it. Now he'll show you exactly how.
Watch Mike's TEDx Talk: The Self-Fulfilling FormulaThe world's most valuable ideas are still locked inside the heads of people who don't know how to get them onto a stage — or into a platform that generates opportunity.
You've spent decades accumulating knowledge, experience, and a perspective that could genuinely change how people think — about business, leadership, performance, or their own lives.
But expertise alone doesn't build a thought leadership platform. The people on TEDx stages, in keynote slots, on podcasts, and in front of premium buyers didn't just show up. They built a deliberate system to get there.
"The gap between 'I have something to say' and 'I'm on the stage saying it' is not talent. It's architecture."
That architecture is exactly what this mentoring is about.
A four-phase mentoring journey that takes you from "I have an idea" to standing on a TEDx stage — and building the thought leadership infrastructure that keeps generating opportunity for years.
Dig beneath the surface of what you know to find the one insight that is uniquely yours — specific enough to be original, universal enough to resonate. We clarify your "idea worth spreading," define your target audience, and position you against the broader thought leadership landscape. Deliverable: your TEDx talk concept brief and authority positioning statement.
Build your TEDx talk from the ground up — narrative structure, opening hook, core insight, memorable moments, and closing call to action. Simultaneously, we map the TEDx landscape: which events match your idea, how to identify event organizers, and how to write an application that gets read. Deliverable: talk outline, application template, target event list.
A TEDx talk is the anchor, not the whole platform. We build your thought leadership infrastructure: LinkedIn positioning and content strategy, speaker bio and one-sheet, podcast guest pitch template, and digital presence audit. You'll leave this phase with a working authority machine — even before you land the stage. Deliverable: LinkedIn strategy, speaker materials, 90-day content calendar.
For clients who continue past Foundation: media training, paid speaking pitch strategy, book proposal development, premium offer positioning, and ongoing accountability. This is where the talk becomes a revenue engine — not just a credential. Available in Accelerator and Full Platform tiers.
Before you invest in an application or a mentoring program, find out if your idea is positioned for a TEDx stage. Fill out the form to send your idea to Mike for free validation.
This isn't a course. It's a mentoring relationship with someone who has walked the path — and built the system to help you walk it faster.

Mike Martin
TEDx Speaker • Author • Executive Mentor
Mike Martin didn't grow up in the speaking world. He spent three decades in the trenches of enterprise technology and business transformation, building companies, leading teams, and solving the kind of operational problems that keep CEOs up at night.
The Self-Fulfilling Formula was the distillation of everything he'd learned about how high performers think, decide, and execute. It started as a book. Then it became a TEDx talk. Then a speaking platform that generates $2,500–$7,500 per keynote, while he runs Top Down Strategies.
The lesson: you don't need to be a professional speaker to build a thought leadership platform. You need a framework, a mentor who's done it, and the discipline to build it systematically.
"I didn't figure this out in a weekend. But I learned what works and, more importantly, what doesn't. That's what I'll save you."
Do I need to already have an idea for a TEDx talk?
No — the first phase is specifically designed to excavate and clarify your idea. Many clients come in knowing they have something to say but not knowing exactly what. That's exactly the right starting point.
Is a TEDx talk guaranteed?
No one can guarantee a TEDx booking — events are independently organized and competitive. What I can guarantee is that you'll have a compelling, properly positioned talk and application strategy — giving you the strongest possible shot at a yes. Most clients who apply after going through the process get booked within 6–12 months.
I have a book / podcast / existing platform. Can you still help?
Absolutely — and often these clients make the fastest progress. We'll audit what you have, identify the gaps, and build a strategy to take your existing assets further. Existing platforms are amplifiers, not prerequisites.
What's the difference between this and a speaker coach?
Speaker coaches focus on delivery — how you move, project, and present. This mentoring is strategic: what you say, how you position yourself, and how you build a platform that generates opportunity beyond the stage. We do address delivery elements, but that's the last 20% of the work, not the first.
How quickly can I expect results?
By the end of month 1, you'll have a clear, differentiated talk concept and positioning. By month 3, you'll have a complete talk, a live application strategy, and an active thought leadership platform. Bookings typically follow 3–9 months after the platform is live and applications are submitted.
